KOK Milieuopslagsystemen constructs racking containers for 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 32 or even 36 pallets or IBCs. Depending on the available space, a racking container can have 2, 3 or even 4 tiers of pallets stacked on top of each other. Furthermore, multiple compartments can be created within a racking container by using partition walls. If the desired dimensions are too large for transport, the racking container will be built in sections and then assembled on location.
Whether a shelving container needs to be fire-resistant depends on the substances stored within it and its location. KOK Milieuopslagsystemen builds fire-resistant, as well as insulated or single-walled, shelving containers.
Fire-resistant shelving containers
Fire-resistant storage containers from KOK Milieuopslagsystemen comply with the PGS-15 guideline and are built in accordance with assessment guideline 2019-Efectis-R000972.
Het Fireguard sliding door system The fire-resistant cladding used in the storage containers has been developed in-house by KOK Milieuopslagsystemen. The door system has been tested by Efectis in accordance with the European door test standard. EN 1634-1 and thereby EI-1-60 classified.
The active refrigerant ‘Firex’, which fills the steel structure, prevents the environmental container from collapsing in the event of a fire. The refrigerant ensures that the steel structure remains below the critical steel temperature even during a fire, thereby retaining its structural strength. This means the container's load-bearing structure meets the criterion. R60.
Single-wall and insulated racking containers
If a container does not need to be fire-resistant, a thermally insulated container or even a single-walled container will suffice. Thermally insulated containers are constructed with PIR panels. For single-walled containers, the steel structure is lined with steel corrugated sheeting.

The storage containers will be fitted with drip trays. The volume of the drip tray will be determined by the volume stored in the container. Depending on the substances being stored, drip trays are available in Zincor, powder-coated steel, stainless steel or high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
Options
Shelving containers can be fitted with options such as mechanical ventilation, air conditioning, cooling, heating, and lighting. All these options are also available in explosion-proof (Atex) versions. In addition, shelving containers can be fitted with steel grate floors between the beams.

The advantage of the free-hanging Fireguard sliding door system without a floor guide is that the forklift can drive right up to the beam and place the pallet or IBC with short forks without “re-gripping.” This is an important aspect of safety. Even if the container is fitted with a liquid threshold, the forklift can load and unload safely.
To improve the accessibility of small packages for order picking, the container can be fitted with pull-out drawers.
